Race Information

ABOUT THE COMPETITION

Welcome to the Garmin Fishing Series website dedicated to fishing competitions played on Lake Dadaj. The Garmin Fishing Series competition aims to popularize and promote modern and ethical fishing in the country. Garmin Fishing Series is the largest spinning event in Poland, which already during the first edition has been called the fishing event of the year. During the competition in 2017, 134 teams competed, that is 268 excellent anglers from Poland and beyond!

 

This year’s fourth edition of the Garmin Fishing Series will take place on 24-26 May 2018. The competition will be played in the „catch and let” formula on „live fish”. The right to take part in the Garmin Fishing Series competition has 2-person teams on boats or individual persons sailing on single-person kayaks.

    1. The registration office will be located on Hotel Star Dadaj Resort&Spa ground, by the lake and it will be opened on the first day off competition (24.05.2018) from 8:00am to 10:00 am.
    2. In the registration office, the competitors are required to present a document with a photo. Document should be able to confirm the identity. Competitors should also present signed competitor card with a statement of health and freely and own responsible participation in the competition. Participants who are under 18 years of age are required to submit a signed consent of their parents or legal guardians to participate in the Garmin Fishing Series. They also have to submit a statement of the absence of health contraindications to participate in the competition and consent to entrust the care of their child to the captain of team.
    3. Race package, identifier, competitor car and time chip can be picked up only personally at the registration office during opening hours.
    4. Race packages which will not be picked up during the registration office working hours will not be issued on another date and will not be sent to the competitor.
  • Enrolment for GARMIN FISHING SERIES 2018 is starting on 9th of February 2018. We ask all interested participants to fill in the registration form, which will be equivalent to creating a participant’s account. If you already have an account at www.startlist.pl, all you need to do is log in, click ‚Enrol in the competition’ and follow the instructions. An account at the website allows to compare results, follow statistics and generate a certificate of completion after every event. If there is any trouble with the registration process please contact our email biuro@startlist.pl or number (+48) 793-794-552.

    Registration step by step:

    1. Click the link redirecting to the registration form or, if you already have an account www.startlist.pl, log in.
    2. Fill in the form and click the ‚next’ button.
    3. Choose the events you want to participate in and tick the boxes where you agree to the terms and conditions as well as the processing of your data.
    4. After choosing your events, click the ‚enrol’ button.
    5. Once you’ve done that, your name will show on the list of participants and you will receive a confirmation e-mail.
    6. Pay the fee through the PayU system or use a regular money transfer within 7 days from enroling in the given event.
    7. Your start number will be generated automatically after your payment has been processed.

  • 1. The competition will be organized using catch and release practice with live fish. The competition will last three days (24.05.2018 from 12.00 to 20.33, 25.05.2018 from 4.37 to 20.34, 26.05.2018 from 04.36 to 18.00).
    2. During a three-day competition, anglers will have altogether 20 hours at their disposal to catch fish. It is a single-series and single-sector competition.
    3. The edge of reed is regarded as the shoreline. Crossing the shoreline can be treated as the reason for disqualification.
    4. Sailing on and out of the lake is allowed only in the places designated by the organizer (a timing gate). Competitors who go ashore in a different place than the designated one will be disqualified. Competitors are allowed to cross the gate as many times as they wish since there is no limit.
    5. Between the hours of fishing, boats shall be moored only in the places designated by the organizer.
    6. If an angler exceeds the time limit set on fishing amounting to 20 hours, he/she shall be punished with 20 penalty points for each minute that has been exceeded. If an angler reaches the result that is below 0, he/she shall be disqualified.
    7. If an angler sails on the lake before the hour set as the starting hour, he/she shall be punished with immediate disqualification.
    8. If an angler sails to the finishing gate after the hour set as the finishing hour, he/she shall be punished with immediate disqualification.
    9. It is allowed to sail out of the lake after the hour set as the finishing hour only in the case of a boat or a kayak breakdown on condition that it has been reported to the judge within the time limit set on fishing. In such a situation the main referee shall make a decision on not disqualifying an angler.
    10. In any exceptional situations, the referee may punish a team or an angler on a kayak with disqualification.
    These situations include: behaviour that does not comply with generally accepted social standards and fair play rules, going ashore in places which have not been designated by the organizer, physical contact with people sailing on the lake who are not taking part in the competition – there is a restraining order at the distance of at least 10 meters, physical contact with anglers from other teams or kayaks taking part in the competition – there is a restraining order at the distance of at least 10 meters.
    11. Dead fish or fish in poor condition may not be accepted by the referee who makes a final decision. Every angler must release fish with due care. An angler killing fish shall be punished with disqualification.
    12. In order to measure fish, the organizer provides each team or a kayak with a 125 cm tape measure. The tape measure will be used to measure the length of fish and it will be labelled with the team name; it will have a separate sticker depending on the day of the competition. Stickers to be used on each day will be provided in the race office before the first sailing on the water body on a particular day.
    13. The referee boats will supervise and monitor the competition.
    14. Fishing is allowed only in the catchment area of Lake Dadaj.
